CONTEMPORARY FLORIDA

Original Exhibit Dates: February 3 to March 7, 2015

Our forty-fourth exhibit featured painter Hollis Jeffcoat, sculptor Rainer Lagemann, mixed media artist Mira Lehr and ceramic artist Sang Roberson. These four Florida artists posses a distinct style and, especially when shown together, their work creates a one-of-a-kind exhibition.

The fascinating career of Mira Lehr spans four decades. She uses a process which includes non-traditional media such as resin, gunpowder, fire, Japanese paper, dyes and welded steel.

Rainer Lagemann concentrates on the human body to create modern interpretations of classic sculptural forms, capturing the body in motion; a freeze frame of timeless gestures and emotions.

Hollis Jeffcoat is a third generation abstract expressionist who's studied with the major painters and teachers of our time.

It was years ago when Sang Roberson read about a pottery class in the newspaper and “stumbled” into ceramics. Since then, Roberson has refined her craft and her work has been shown at many galleries, including the Smithsonian.
