HOLLIS JEFFCOAT: NEW WORK FROM THE RED STUDIO

Our thirty-ninth exhibit featured new work by renowned artist Hollis Jeffcoat.

After she moved into her new (yes, red) studio on Sanibel, Jeffcoat proved that the adage “change your studio; change your art” is true. 

While the brushstroke, color complexity and emotional content of the paintings in this solo exhibit were pure Jeffcoat, there were considerable differences between these and her earlier works: new colors in her palette, new imagery and, most importantly, a new freedom and joy in her painting process that is palpable in her work.
