MYTH AND METAPHOR
Original Exhibit Dates: November 5 to 29, 2009
In our sixth exhibit we featured three artists that use their selected mediums to abstractly express ideas and feelings about music, freedom and home. Each piece of artwork played off the other, creating an atmosphere of bold beauty that was mythical, metaphorical and, of course, marvelous.
Hollis Jeffcoat (of New York and Sanibel) created new abstract works that use nature as metaphor for her inner views.
Krista Johnson (a Lee County native) paints in a bold, primitive style to create spirited expressions full of color, energy and mystery.
Jim Krieger (of Montreal and Naples) bends, folds, paints and etches metal into abstract wall hangings and sculptures that reflect his literary turn of mind.
