CONTEMPORARY FLORIDA

Contemporary Florida featured painter Hollis Jeffcoat, sculptor Rainer Lagemann, mixed media artist Mira Lehr and ceramic artist Sang Roberson. The four Florida artists posses a distinct style to create a one-of-a-kind exhibition. The fascinating career of Mira Lehr spans four decades. She uses a process which includes non-traditional media such as resin, gunpowder, fire, Japanese paper, dyes and welded steel. Rainer Lagemann concentrates on the human body for a modern interpretation of the classic art sculpture. He captures the body in motion - a freeze frame of timeless gestures and emotions. Hollis Jeffcoat is a third generation abstract expressionist who has studied with the major painters and teachers or our time. It was years ago when Sang Roberson read about a pottery class in the newspaper. That is how she stumbled into ceramics. Since then, Roberson has refined her craft and her work has been shown at many galleries, including the Smithsonian.
